Garrett urban renewal 2015

Charlottesville, Va. - Garrett urban renewal expands 5-fold as the Strategic Investment Area approved by a 4 to 1 vote Feb. 3, 2014. City Council scheduled this agenda item Jan. 20, 2015 as the last topic of the night, the most controversial of all the agenda items. On this map the brown-shaded areas are claimed to be owned by the City's urban renewal agency, Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority, stolen following a 1967 referendum "authorizing" the felony civil rights violations. City Council and staff are documented by name now for more than a decade actively suppressing the history that there ever was a Garrett neighborhood.
